RCP GIVES THANKS
footlights

Thank you for volunteering to host and/or perform for RCP Gives Thanks this November.  Below are sections with detailed instructions for recording and submitting videos for the following: Solo Performers, Hosts and Group Number Performers.

Please find the section that applies to you and email Kate Keifer at cameronmarch@hotmail.com if you have any questions or issues.

SOLO PERFORMERS

How to Film Your Solo Video

  • Please film your video HORIZONTALLY
  • Start your video by introducing yourself and telling the audience what your involvement with RCP is (i.e., what shows/roles you have done, backstage stuff, how many years you’ve been involved, etc.)
  • Share with the audience something that you are grateful for this holiday season. This could be something personal (a particular person, organization or situation that means a lot to you), community-focused (a local organization, or something you see every day), or global.  Please feel free to think creatively.
  • Please keep your “gratitude” free of specific politics – remember it is an election month and tensions are likely to be high throughout the month – this event is meant to spread good will and remind people of all of the good things in our lives.
  • Introduce and perform your song – you may also share why you chose it.
  • After your performance, you may either, simply end (please leave at least 5 seconds of “dead air” to help with the editing) or say a few more words if you’re feeling it (i.e., Happy Holidays, thanks to whoever, etc)

HOSTS

How to Film Your Host Video

  • Please film your video(s) HORIZONTALLY
  • If you are hosting multiple nights, you will need to submit separately for each date.
  • Your video will have TWO sections – an introduction (before the performer segment) and a closeout (after the performance).
  • You may film and submit each date’s video as one continuous take or submit two separate videos.  If you choose to do one continuous take, please leave at least 5-10 seconds of dead air in between segments to help with editing.
  • Scripts will be provided to you for both the introduction and closeout.  It will contain information that is specific to your night of hosting – i.e., which performer you are introducing and information on our non-profit partner of the week that we are raising donations for.
  • There is a placeholder in the script for you to share your gratitude with the audience. Please keep your “gratitude” free of specific politics – remember it is an election month and tensions are likely to be high throughout the month – this event is meant to spread good will and remind people of all of the good things in our lives.
  • There will be a few places in the script for you to add your personal words if you wish to.  If you have any questions on the script, please let us know.
  • Please keep introduction segments to 2-3 minutes and closeout segments to 1 minute or less.

How to Film Your Individual Track Video

  • Please film your video(s) HORIZONTALLY
  • Use earbuds or headphones to play the accompaniment track in your ear as you record yourself singing your vocal line. Your submitted video should just be your voice. As everyone is singing against the same accompaniment track, we will layer everyone’s voices in during the editing process.
