RCP Scholarships offered to Fairfax County high school students

Fairfax County high school students who have a passion for theater may be eligible to win a scholarship from the Reston Community Players. We offer two scholarships; one for students interested in technical stage crafts such as set construction, set design, sound and lighting, the other for performers of music, theater or dance. RCP’s final show of the season August: Osage County opens in April

Rehearsals are in full swing for August: Osage County. The newest twisted family in American theater, the Westons, get ready to take the stage. Intense, funny, surprising, and completely engaging. I Love You Because opens Friday, March 2nd

I Love You Because opens Friday, March 2, at 8 p.m. for ten performances at the CenterStage Theater, in the Reston Community Center.

Reston Community Players is proud to present the modern musical comedy I Love You Because, with music by Joshua Salzman, and book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham.
Performance dates are March 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24 at 8 p.m., with two matinee shows March 11 and 18 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $21 for adults and $18 for students and seniors. High school and college students with a valid ID can purchase tickets for the March 9th show for $10. Purchase tickets online at www.rcp-tix.com, by phone at 703-476-4500, or in person at the Reston Community Players box office. Group rates are available, as well as student rush tickets. A talk-back with cast and crew follows the Sunday, March 11 performance.

New Play Project Reading Sunday January 22nd

Your are invited to the next New Play Project reading this Sunday, January 22nd at 6PM.

Our third show of the season is Lily’s Gift by Bill Costanza, Directed by Carol Watson.

There’s a knock at the door. The person on the other side has a secret that not only could ruin the few remaining years of Lily’s life, but could also destroy her past. Neither of them recalls how they briefly crossed paths in Nazi Germany during the final days of World War II. Now, over 50 years later one thing brings them together – a gift given to Lily during the war by a dying American soldier.
